This folding treadmill is fitted with many advanced features. The NordicTrack C1550 has a 20″ x 60″ tread belt that is powered by a 3.25 CHP motor. The running deck is supported by the “QuadFlex” cushioning system which provides the ultimate in stride comfort.

There are a total of 34 in-built workout programs consisting of 9 Calorie Workouts, 8 Intensity, 8 Speed, and 9 Incline Workouts. The Calorie Workouts have been designed to burn the maximum number of calories, and all of the workouts are easy to select due to the simple navigation system.

This model is iFIT compatible. Connecting to your home wireless internet network, it lets you customize your own fitness program, receive automatic workout downloads, manage your profile online, and even workout with Jillian Michaels. (This feature requires a home internet connection, the iFIT module which is sold separately, and subscription to iFIT).

The console incorporates an 8″ backlit display. The display has a large viewing angle so that you can always keep track of your workout progress. It displays your speed, time, distance, pulse, and calories burned. The RaceTrack function allows you to monitor your progress in a track-style display.

The console also contains an Intermix Acoustics sound system that can be hooked up to an iPod or other MP3 player via a compatible music port. The iPod is able to rest upon the console shelf leaving the controls within easy reach.

Perhaps one of the most surprising features is the ability of the deck to decline. This feature is usually only found on more expensive treadmills and has the benefit of activating different muscles by walking at a decline. This is claimed to burn more calories than walking on a flat surface and stimulate more muscle for faster results.

The treadmill comes with a Lifetime warranty on the Motor, Frame, and Deck, with 5 years of cover on all other parts (including electronics) and 2 years labor warranty.

The treadmill utilizes a DurX 3.25 CHP Motor. This is a commercial-grade motor that includes an internal fan which cools internal components and extends the motor’s life. This design of this motor allows you to exercise for longer periods of time while maintaining smooth, consistent operation.

This treadmill comes with 34 personal trainer workout programs that automatically adjust the incline and speed of the treadmill, each program focusing on an aerobic, weight loss, or performance goal.

The control console on this treadmill has the next generation of LCD display screen technology. This screen includes a 1/4 mile Race Track display and can show the following information:

This treadmill is iFIT capable. In essence, this is a wireless connection between the Internet and the treadmill. iFIT enables you to customize your own fitness program, receive automatic workout downloads, manage your profile online, and work out with Jillian Michaels. You can even add the thrill of competition to your workout with 5k races against your Facebook friends. Other features include a nutrition and activity tracker, motivating text messages and emails, and workout videos that are available for download. It should be noted that this feature requires a home wireless internet connection, the iFIT module, and membership to iFIT available as an optional extra.

This treadmill is equipped with a CardioGrip heart rate monitor. This helps you make the most out of every workout by monitoring your heart rate via sensors that are built into the handlebars.

The treadmill is also supplied with a Polar wireless chest strap, which when worn transmits the user’s heart rate data to be displayed constantly on the display screen without having to lean forward to grip the handlebars.

1-Touch control is used to control the treadmill’s speed. Instead of tediously scrolling through options, the 1-Touch system allows you to instantly change the speed of the treadmill between 0 – 12 MPH with the single touch of a button. You can decrease your speed immediately when you need a rest, or increase it instantly for a challenging workout.

1-Touch control technology is used to change the incline of the running deck with the single touch of a button instead of tediously scrolling through options as you would with traditional incline controls. The incline can be adjusted between 0 deg. up to 15 deg. of grade.

This treadmill employs “space saver” technology, which allows the running deck to be folded to an almost upright position when not in use. When in this position, the treadmill then occupies considerably less floor space and is of benefit to those who have limited room.

Treadmills vary in their weight carrying capacity. The makers advise a maximum user weight of 375 lb for this model, which should suit the majority of users.
